Top bridal hair tips, offers & fab giveaways! [Competition now closed]

As many of you who have visited our consultation studio will know, we are based within award-winning hair salon Jordan Burr in London’s West End. Last week I sat down with Glen Burr, one of the founders of the salon, to get his professional advice on how to ensure you have perfect wedding-day hair.

Jordan Burr's hair tips

Glen’s top five bridal hair tips:

  • Be sure to get your hair trimmed regularly to encourage healthy growth and keep split ends at bay in the six months before the big day.
  • If you are deciding on a new colour or style, make sure you have it done a few months in advance of the wedding so you still have time to change it if you don’t like it.
  • It is essential to have regular conditioning treatments in the three months leading up to your wedding; these can be done in-salon or at home.If you’re an autumn bride, this is particularly important as hair can become dry and brittle after the summer holidays and prolonged exposure to the sun.
  • Give your hair a break from your irons, blow-dryer and hair curlers in the 3 weeks leading up to the wedding so you hair can regain its natural healthy sheen.
  • Drink lots of water and eat plenty of fruit and vegetables, and maybe even take a specially formulated vitamin for hair, skin and nails.

We have also got some lovely hair care products to give-away. One lucky winner will receive a trio pack of Exquisite Oil Micro-Oil Shampoo (250ml), Oil Ritual Masque (150ml) and Replenishing Treatment Serum (92ml) worth £35, with two runners up each receiving a Replenish Treatment Product worth £14.95.

The Exquisite Oil Collection from Matrix Biolage is a NEW range of luxury hair care products available in the salon. Having bought some to try myself, I can attest that for once here is a product that actually seems to do what it says on the tub. Made from a blend of Moringa oil (the Moringa tree is referred to as the “miracle tree” because of its wide array of medicinal and cosmetic uses) plus Macadamia seed, sweet almond and coconut oils, it really is a divine product and leaves your hair with a gorgeous shine. I love the pretty packaging too, especially the Exquisite Oil Replenishing Treatment Serum which is looking lovely on my bathroom shelf!
