I am thrilled to launch my new look blog which has been a long time in the making!
As mentioned, recent personal transitions have meant it was time for a re-brand and new direction and so am excited to welcome you to The White Diaries – a lifestyle blog with a mission statement inspired by the mantra coined by the incredible philosopher Joseph Campbell.
Life is like a blank white page and I strongly believe we create our own experiences and we can only find true happiness by following our bliss.
The White Diaries is essentially a journal documenting the amazing places I am lucky to experience and the inspiring people I meet in my day to day life. For over twenty years I have worked in the city of London, predominantly as a finance (bond) lawyer. I also set up a luxury wedding accessory label with my now ex-husband. And I now spend my days marketing the skills of incredibly talented lawyers in a city law firm.
I hope The White Diaries provides inspiration and ideas of how to make each moment truly count, and that you find the Inspiring Individuals within the blog, who I will be featuring, as fascinating as I do, and that they motivate you to keep what you are passionate about at the core of what you do!
If you would like to get in touch with me you can email me at email@example.com
Note: I remember been inspired many years ago by Conde Nast Traveler’s Mission Statement that it does not accept free or discounted trips and accommodations or even payment in exchange for editorial coverage. And so when I decided to launch my lifestyle blog I wanted to ensure that I brought the same ethic to the articles I wrote. The majority of the places I feature (hotels, restaurants etc.) have been paid for in the same way as you would without any special treatment or recognition. I hope this allows me report fairly on what I have experienced and provide inspiration and experiences that are affordable.
In some instances, I will write about places I have been invited to as part of a showcase or open evening, and where I do I will make full disclosure. The purpose of this blog is not to generate an income and so I won’t be accepting sponsorships or paid adverts.

We were delighted to be asked by fabulous Brides magazine to participate in a designer catwalk show this summer at the luxurious Mandarin Oriental hotel in London’s Knightsbridge.
Lucky Brides magazine readers were treated to divine Greygoose cocktails and yummy canapés in the beautiful gardens before a fabulous catwalk show featuring some of the hottest designers including Suzanne Neville, Sanyukta and Naomi Neoh. As well as showcasing some of our pieces on the catwalk we had a table to display our hair accessories and wedding jewellery and really enjoyed meeting and chatting with Brides readers.
Until next time,

We are thrilled to be supporting a fabulous new initiative in the wedding industry – Guide To Be – the UK’s first independent site dedicated to user reviews of wedding suppliers. Founded by Scots entrepreneur Eve Brill, and her sister Tessa, it fills a gap in the market for a trusted place for brides to get unbiased advice to help them plan their wedding.
(Tessa and Eve)
Eve was living in Australia when she was trying to organise her own wedding last year and found it frustrating that there wasn’t a site (like Trip Advisor) where you could get unbiased advice about suppliers and it occurred to her that there must be lots of couples needing that kind of information – which is where Guides To Be came in.
At Olivier Laudus, customer service and satisfaction is really important to us, so we are thrilled to be partnering with Guide To Be on the launch of their new Accessories category. And to celebrate we are offering these gorgeous Flora cubic zirconia earrings from the Olivier Laudus 2014 collection to one lucky winner. Visit Guide to Be for all the details on how to enter.
We wish Eve and Tess all the best with their new venture! And good luck to to all the competition entrants.

It is always a thrill to be featured in the press. I still remember the first time we saw an Olivier Laudus piece in a magazine – it was such an exciting moment and I don’t think the feeling has dissipated over the years.
We are very lucky to get featured frequently in magazines and blogs, and a number of our pieces have been used for styled cover shoots, but it was a fantastic first to have one of our own images of the new Cecilia headband from our 2014 Great Glamour shoot on the cover of the Diamond Edition of the amazing fashion and bridal magazine British Mode.
British MODE is a luxury publication as well as the UK’s first dedicatedly fashion and bridal magazine, launched in 2013 by Editor-in-Chief, Gabriella Enriocco. Features cover haute couture, menswear, bridal, beauty, cuisine and luxury travel. British MODE places a particular emphasis on featuring and supporting both established and up coming British brands and designers. Each month one charity is selected for an article by one of the publication’s Editor’s as part of the monthly philanthropy feature.
Columnists include Dame Vivienne Westwood’s corsetiere Belinda Chorley, celebrity hair stylist Vicki Lord, TV personality, wedding planner and author George Watts aka The Wedding Fairy, celebrity stylist Suzanne Bernie and global image consultant, Kelly Millar.
Its a fantastic magazine with a talented team of writers and lots of gorgeous fashion and bridal features. We were absolutely delighted to be on the cover and to have a fabulous feature about our new collection campaign which was shot at the Corinthia Hotel in London and our business!

As we celebrate a decade in the wedding industry, we thought we would share our journey and some of the highlights with you.
It all started with a cushion…
Our business idea originated with our own wedding in 2002, as is the case for so many start-ups, you spot a gap in market and go from there. I wanted a ring cushion for our wedding but couldn’t find one that really had that wow factor so we had one made for us. The reaction of friends who saw it, made us think perhaps there was a need for these, so we decided to explore further.
Olivier finishing off a cushion..
We created a small initial collection of cushions made from luxe fabrics and beautifully embellished by hand, which we then exhibited at the National Wedding Show in London. We were so thrilled with the positive feedback we received, we decided to launch our company Wedding Ring Cushions in 2004. Gradually we added other handmade items like guestbooks and dolly bags and we thrilled when we were asked to make a ring cushion for Katie Price’s wedding to Peter Andre which was featured in OK! Magazine.
Olivier Laudus – the bridal accessory company
It is so important to listen to what your customers want, and after being repeatedly asked if we offered other accessories, we decided to re brand and also offer jewellery, hair accessories and bridal bags curated from talented designers and companies – and all sold under the new Olivier Laudus label.
Attending reader events and other shows, we realised that brides to be really appreciated the chance to touch and try on pieces, so we decided to take the leap from selling online only and in July 2011, we opened our accessory studio in Central London. The feedback from our customers has been great, telling us that it has really added to their shopping experience.
The last few years have been really special for us. We are are always delighted to be featured by the press and were so happy to see our Fleur crystal and feather fascinator in this stunning editorial in Vogue Gioiello.
We were also thrilled to be short-listed and nominated for various wedding industry awards. Last year we picked up a Highly Commended Award for Wedding Jewellery at the 2013 Perfect Wedding Magazine Awards.

And its always nice to be asked to share our knowledge at industry events.

As the business has developed, it is clear that our brides are looking for affordable luxury yet at the same time have an appreciation for elegance and glamour, so it was important that our new collection shoot reflected this and our brand values, and were thrilled to shoot our 2014 campaign at the beautiful Corinthia London.

2014 and beyond…
As we celebrate our 10th birthday, we are busy expanding the business and giving our studio a makeover – so watch this space for news of our new look boutique launch very soon!
In the meantime, do check back for special offers and give-aways this month to mark our ten years in the business!
And finally, a big thank you to all the lovely brides and grooms whose special day we are privileged to have played a small part in and to all the wonderful people we have met in the industry.

We were thrilled at Olivier Laudus to be Highly Commended by Perfect Wedding magazine for our wedding jewellery in their 2013 awards.
The award ceremony was held at 116 Pall Mall which is home to the Institute of Directors. It is a gorgeous Georgian building designed by the famous architect John Nash and is still owned by the Crown Estate. It boasts a magnificent central staircase and 15-foot original hand-made Regency chandelier; a truly spectacular setting for an award ceremony.
Thanks to everyone who voted!
